01. INTRODUCTION:
Shirdi Sai Rural Institute, Rahata (SSRI) established in 1997 is based on the ideals and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, particularly concerning agriculture and rural development. The Institute recognizes the need to advance social justice and to include human values in education. SSRI also recognizes the need to promote the sanctity of rural life, which embodies affection for each other, selflessness and mutual trust, help and co-operation. It believes on effective cooperation as a method of broad-based agricultural and rural development.
It is registered under Bombay Public Trust act of 1950.
02. MISSION:
Mandate is to develop appropriate effective programmes in the context of a holistic view of rural development.
An interdisciplinary approach in tune with the Ecosystem.
Develop strategies to empower rural masses by creating self-employment opportunities, especially for the downtrodden.
Improving quality of life, including education, health, and environment.
Develop Information Technology, biotechnology and other technological tools of decentralized development in rural area.
